The plate load test is a field test, which is performed to determine the ultimate bearing capacity of the soil and the probable settlement under a given load.

Pile integrity test covers the procedure for determining the integrity of individual vertical or inclined piles by measuring and analyzing the velocity and force (optional) response of the pile induced by an impact device usually applied axially and perpendicularly to the pile head surface.
